Be a part of the Global Mala - Uniting Yoga, Seva and Collective Consciousness on St John, VI.

Unite with the global yoga community and experience the power of meditation in action.
Join us as we gather together to bring greater awareness and raise funds in support of Project Homeless Connect, HOPE, and Friends Helping Friends. Share in the community, share in the energy and help promote peace and conscious action worldwide.

We believe that transformative change, whether in the individual or in society, can occur only through the medium of deeply personal participation. We achieve being through doing. Everyone is invited to practice and play. We make the world real through actions that open the heart.

If 108 sun salutations sound too daunting, join us in chanting the mantra OM 108 times. Your mala is an expression of you and your personal meditation for peace. Choose asana, mantra, switch between the two, or take a breather during a round.  It’s your choice and your practice!

After the main event, dance to the beats of DJ Smooth Sailin’. Live drumming will be lead by Kenny. Join St. John’s beautiful hoop girls in dance and celebration. Plenty of hoops and drums will be available to share and try. So join in the fun!

Free childcare will be lead by Radiant Child instructor Beth Gowan and supported by other yoga instructors. Children can participate at the crafts tent by creating mala beads and prayer flags. In additions to crafts, face painting and kid’s yoga are planned.

Food, non-alcoholic drinks, and wares will be sold.  All proceeds from the admission of $20 will go to charity.

Afterpartys and other satellite events are shaping up all around the mala. Expect more announcements about live music and parties in celebration of Peace Day 2012!

The Peace Project on St John is being sponsored by Do Yoga St John and Crystal Blue Yoga. We would like to invite any yoga instructors on St John to join us in leading the Sun Salutations.  Thank you and see you there! Namaste

In 2004, 13 Indigenous Grandmothers from all four corners, moved by their concern for our planet, came together at a historic gathering, where they decided to form an alliance: The International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers. This is their story. Four years in-the-making and shot on location in the Amazon rainforest, the mountains of Mexico, North America, and at a private meeting with the Dalai Lama in India, For the Next 7 Generations follows what happens when these women unite. Facing a world in crisis, they share with us their visions of healing and a call for change now, before it's too late. This film documents their unparalleled journey and timely perspectives on a timeless wisdom.
